This is a poor showing when compared to the sheer awesomeness of Why Buildings Fall Down. Very wh descriptions of great buildings and structural principles for lay people.

The class is for graduate students in architecture to learn a bit about what goes into engineering their creations. There, I just wrote a chapter of this book. The historical contexts and references seem to be more of fillers rather than logical and practical references.

As a structures primer, there is no better read.
