I suggest getting rid off the DBus dependency altogether. To get distro badges change your flair options above. The search-combo-box-history handling is also improved. So we are happy to announce that we are releasing an updated Windows installer for Kate 64bit today.

The Qt windows integration plugin uses the native file dialogs that do not support remote protocols.
