One thing to learn from her, or from all reverts is that Islam does not change who you are. Actually I did enjoy the book, I was fascinated by her journey.

Although I have never actually watched any shows with Kristiane, her name still rings a bell with me. A journey of the soul. I have long been interested in world religions, and in conversion I have myself been a convert in my middle years, though not to Islam.
All in all, my judgement is not negative — but not altogether positive either. I was particularly moved by this act of hers. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Her friendship with former Pakistan World Cup winning captain Imran Khan was the key to her life change and her conversion to Islam at the age of You are still you.
For three years Backer and Khan were lovers, making frequent trips to Pakistan together and travelling widely in that country.

Don’t you think she just became too old for MTV? The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I don’t personally follow the Sufi way myself but each to their own. Though faced by many challenges, her strong faith gave from mtv to mecca kristiane backer the inner peace she had always sought. I recommend for people to read just to examine and understand such a great character, and not necessarily to approve of her opinion or religious views!
You do feel the book is very authentic and reflects the writer’s honesty.
The lessons she learned along this journey of the love for the divine Creatorwhich is greater than that of the physical or emotional love she felt for some of the closest people she met along the way while climbing on the spiritual ladder, made it so easy for her to let go any physical or mundane affairs.
She portrays Islam with a warm heart — and yet, I found her style was a little repetitive, bordering on the naive and uncritical. The book details her early life before the influence of religion, right through to her conversion into a Muslim and the difficulties she faced in this journey.
A career which had seen her interview and socialise with many leading names from the world of music, still lacked that inner happiness. If it is reduced to around pages, I would probably rate it with four stars. Kristiane’s story is an inspiration for those who knows the importance of a firm religious faith and motivation for those who are bit confused to obey such path. Khan by this time had supposedly abandoned his previous playboy lifestyle and re-embraced his religion with missionary-like fervour. No trivia or quizzes yet. This book is truly an eye opener for to reactive my faith and living the life as Allah has created me to this world.

I found myself so immersed to the spiritual journey of Ms. From before embracing Islam leaving your old lifestyle, familyand after embracing Islam finding a partner who share the same faith with you, but at the same time understand your culture and vacker, which in Kristiane’s case is her being an European, liberated Muslim women are indeed big challenges and for that I give my utmost respect to Kristiane for staying tough and solid in her beliefs despite all the shortcomings that came along her way.
